WEB DESK: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the resumption of its direct flight service between Islamabad and Beijing, effective from July 3, restoring a vital air link between Pakistan and China.
The revival of the Islamabad-Beijing-Islamabad route comes amid rising demand from students, business professionals, tourists, and families seeking more efficient travel options between the two countries, according to APP.
The direct service is expected to offer competitive fares, generous baggage allowances, and enhanced comfort compared to indirect alternatives.
Strengthened People-to-People Ties
The restored route is anticipated to significantly boost connectivity and reinforce longstanding bilateral relations. PIA management, in a statement, reaffirmed the national carrier’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in tourism, trade, education, and cultural exchanges, while fostering closer people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and China.
The development has been particularly welcomed by the large Pakistani and Chinese student communities pursuing higher education in each other’s countries.
Educational institutions and student groups have described the resumption as timely, especially with the approaching academic sessions and peak summer travel period.
Benefits for Travellers and Tourism
Travel agencies and tourism operators have already reported strong interest from prospective passengers, highlighting the convenience and cost-effectiveness of the direct flights.
Industry observers believe the service will facilitate smoother mobility for students, academics, and researchers, while also promoting educational exchanges and supporting family visits and tourism.
The resumption of the Islamabad-Beijing route marks another positive step in enhancing transportation links between the two friendly nations and underscores PIA’s role in contributing to the enduring strategic partnership.
