WEB DESK: Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has said the inquiry committee formed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will submit its report on the PIMS incident within 48 hours, with the complete findings expected within the next 24 hours.

Speaking on the programme Faisla Aap Ka, Mustafa Kamal said the inquiry committee had been active since last night and was collecting all available evidence, including physical and digital evidence, to determine how the incident occurred and who was responsible.

He said the inquiry report would make the facts clear and identify those responsible for any negligence.

“There is only one committee investigating the PIMS incident, and it was constituted by the prime minister,” the federal minister said, adding that the committee’s report would be considered final.

Mustafa Kamal said there was no need to form any other committee to investigate the incident, stressing that those found responsible for criminal negligence would face strict action.

“Cases should be registered against those responsible for the PIMS incident,” he said, adding that no one found responsible would be spared.

The minister also dismissed reports about the formation of any other inquiry committee, saying only the committee constituted by the prime minister had the mandate to investigate the incident.

Meanwhile, responding to calls for his resignation, Mustafa Kamal said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was pursuing an agenda against him.

He said the PPP was particularly concerned about the issue of creating new administrative units.

“If I resign and return to Karachi, the lives of PPP members will become even more difficult,” Mustafa Kamal remarked.

He reiterated that the findings of the prime minister’s inquiry committee would determine responsibility and guide further action in the PIMS incident.
