PM alleges Indian backing behind G-11 blast, Defence Minsiter warns Afghanistan

G-11 blast

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack at the G-11 district court in Islamabad and accused India-backed groups of responsibility, calling for swift justice and urging international condemnation.

In a statement, the prime minister described the assailants as elements of “Fitna-ul-Khawarij” and “Fitna-ul-Hindustan,” which he said operate with backing from India and from Afghan soil. He prayed for the highest ranks for those martyred, extended the nation’s sympathies to their families, and called for patience for the bereaved. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and directed that the victims be provided the best medical facilities.

PM Sharif ordered an immediate investigation into the incident and vowed that “those responsible will be brought to justice.” He said that such attacks as “condemnable”, yet no expression of condemnation would be sufficient for strikes allegedly backed from across the border.

The prime minister linked the Islamabad attack to the incident in Wana, where innocent children were targeted, and characterised both assaults as “the worst examples of Indian state terrorism in the region.” He warned that such cowardly acts will not weaken Pakistan’s resolve and pledged to continue operations until the complete elimination of the monster of terrorism and the suppression of the last terrorist of Fitna-ul-Hindustan and Fitna-ul-Khawarij.

Urging the international community to react, the prime minister said, “It is time for the world to condemn such heinous conspiracies of India.” He added that India’s “terrible face of destroying peace in the region has been badly exposed before the whole world” and demanded that India desist from “the heinous act of spreading terrorism through proxies in the region.”

Government officials said the investigation would continue and details would be released as they become available.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif took to X, formerly Twitter and shared a statement saying “We are in a state of war,” adding that the Islamabad attack underlines the nationwide dimension of the conflict and called on political leaders and citizens to stand united behind the security forces, saying Pakistan will pursue both diplomatic and military measures to neutralize cross-border threats.

He urged Kabul to take concrete action to prevent militant groups from operating from Afghan soil, warning that mere negotiations will not suffice unless matched by decisive steps to stop terrorism. At the same time he reiterated that the Pakistan Army, while committed to exhausting all options for peace, remains fully prepared to respond and protect the people of Pakistan.
