PM decides to appoint Nehal Hashmi as Sindh governor

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to appoint Nehal Hashmi as the new Governor of Sindh, according to government sources.

A summary recommending Hashmi’s appointment has been sent to Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan, for formal approval.

Following the decision, the prime minister met Hashmi and congratulated him on his nomination for the key provincial post.

Once the president approves the summary, Hashmi is expected to formally assume office as the Governor of Sindh.

Hashmi, a senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a former senator. He has previously served in various political roles and has remained an active figure within the party. His appointment is expected to strengthen the party’s political presence in the province.

He will be replacing MQM-P’s Kamran Tessori.
