WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the creation of the Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority as a significant step towards ensuring food security, public health, and safety standards across the province.
Addressing the initiative, the Prime Minister said the authority’s establishment is “a service of great value to the nation” and will serve not only Punjab but the entire country. He praised the role of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, highlighting her efforts in setting up a modern, technology-driven institution.
“The Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority will become a regional center of excellence,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the institution will play a key role in ensuring the provision of safe nutrition, eliminating food adulteration, and supporting scientific and forensic investigations to provide irrefutable evidence against food-related crimes.
He also congratulated the Chief Minister on the province’s proactive measures in public health and food safety, while acknowledging the valuable contributions of scientists and experts involved in the project.
The Prime Minister said the authority would combine modern technology with expert oversight to safeguard public health, strengthen food security, and set a benchmark for similar initiatives across Pakistan.
