ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered an inquiry into the actions of certain officers in the Ministry of Housing for allegedly damaging the reputation of the parliamentary committee.

HUM News Investigation Team has learned that the PM has also formed an inquiry committee to conduct the investigation. The chief of Prime Minister Inspection Commission, Muzaffar Ranjha, will head the inquiry committee. Ranjha summoned senior officer of the Senate, Zain Gilani, today.

The committee and the inquiry come in the wake of a letter written by Senate Committee on Housing Chairman Senator Nasir Mehmood Butt to PM Sharif, expressing several concerns. The letter reportedly said that two senior officers of the Ministry of Housing had allegedly issued orders contrary to the committee’s recommendations.

A widow of a former Senate employee had complained to the committee about her house being snatched. In response the committee had made recommendations, which were allegedly flouted by the said officers.

A report will be submitted to the Prime Minister after the inquiry is completed.
