PM orders to investigate Balochistan massacre


Incident of 30 murders

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while condemning the killing of 23 passengers in Musakhail district of Balochistan, has issued directives to the authorities concerned to promptly investigate the massacre.

In a statement, the premier expressed his heartfelt condolences to the heirs of the victims and prayed for the departed souls. He asked the authorities concerned to extend the best medical facilities to the injured.

Shehbaz vowed that the perpetrators would be given exemplary punishment. Our fight against terrorism will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist from the country.”

President Zardari said that such cruel targeting of the innocent soul is parallel to killing all humans. He called for assuring justice for the suffering families.

According to Musakhail Senior Superintendent of Police Ayub Achakzai, “The militants first blocked the inter-provincial highway, offloaded the passengers, and killed 30 of them after their identity check. He said that the militants also set at least 10 vehicles on fire.

According to the police officer, the victim passengers were mostly from Punjab whose bodies were later shifted to the hospital for medico-legal formalities before dispatching them to their home towns.

The proscribed Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) took responsibility for the attack, marking it as one of the worst shootings in the region in recent years.
