WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday commended Pakistan’s security forces for successfully preventing terrorist attacks at 12 locations across Balochistan and neutralizing 37 terrorists during recent operations. He praised the professionalism of the forces and paid tribute to 10 personnel who were martyred in the line of duty.
The prime minister offered prayers for the martyrs and expressed condolences to their families, stating that the entire nation takes pride in its fallen heroes. He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue its fight against terrorism until its complete eradication and emphasised that the nation stands firmly alongside the armed forces in protecting the country.
President Zardari appreciates operations, vows no compromise on peace
President Asif Ali Zardari also lauded the security forces for their effective action against threats to peace in Balochistan. He specifically praised the successful foiling of attacks carried out by Fitna-al-Hindustan-linked militants and paid homage to the 10 martyred personnel.
The president prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and expressed condolences to their families. He stressed that there would be no compromise on peace in Balochistan, the safety of citizens, or national unity. President Zardari added that the state would continue to act with full force against enemy elements operating with foreign backing.
CM Sarfraz Bugti highlights counter-terrorism achievements
Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti said security forces had killed around 700 terrorists across the province over the past year. He noted that at least 70 terrorists were killed during operations over the past two days, with an additional 37 neutralized in timely responses to attacks attempted on Friday.
Bugti said terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Hindustan attempted assaults in several areas of the province, but police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel jointly foiled all attacks. “These cowardly attacks cannot weaken our resolve against terrorism,” he said, adding that the state would not rest until the last terrorist is eliminated and operations continue until the menace of terrorism is fully eradicated from Balochistan.
