ISLAMABAD: (APP) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday expressed profound sorrow and grief over the recent catastrophic floods in Bangladesh and offered assistance to help the country cope with the devastating situation.
In a letter to Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Younus, Shehbaz Sharif conveyed Pakistan’s solidarity with Bangladesh during this challenging time. He stated that Pakistan stands with those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in the floods, according to a press release issued by the PM’s Office.
The prime minister praised the people of Bangladesh for their renowned bravery and courage, particularly in the face of adversity. He expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s leadership would guide the country through this difficult period.
Shahbaz Sharif also affirmed Pakistan’s readiness to provide any assistance needed by Bangladesh.
Catastrophic floods in Bangladesh displaced around 3.6 million people as floodwaters ravaged millions of homes, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted transportation routes, complicating relief efforts in the politically troubled country.
