PM Sharif recalls May 6 escalation with India, highlighting Pakistan’s security and growth

WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recalled the deadly events of May 6, 2025, when India’s aggression led to the deaths of 53 Pakistani citizens. He praised the leadership of Pakistan’s Field Marshal, stating India learned a lesson it would never forget. During the conflict, Pakistan shot down seven Indian aircraft, PM Sharif added, emphasising how the country’s global prestige and the respect for the Pakistani passport have increased.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: The Frontline of Pakistan’s Security

PM Sharif highlighted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s strategic importance, lauding its people and security forces for historic sacrifices against terrorism. He recalled the APS tragedy, stressing that sustainable peace in the province is crucial. “The people and forces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have written history in the fight for security,” he said.

Terror Threats from Across the Border

The Prime Minister criticised Afghanistan for being used as a base for terrorist groups like the TTP and BL, with support from India. Despite agreements like the Doha Accord, militants continue to operate. PM Sharif vowed to neutralise all external threats, both inside Pakistan and abroad.

Equitable growth for all provinces

PM Sharif emphasised that national progress depends on the development of all provinces, not just Punjab. He highlighted financial support for Balochistan, including Rs100 billion, funding for solar tube wells, and major road projects. “Pakistan’s growth is only real when every province prospers,” he said.

Unity and vigilance: keys to Pakistan’s future

Stressing national security as the government’s top priority, PM Sharif said citizens must remain united to combat terrorism and anti-Pakistan propaganda. He praised security forces’ sacrifices and highlighted Pakistan’s progress toward peace, economic strength, and regional stability.
