PM Shehbaz announces package for rain-affected people of Gwadar

Gwadar: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced financial assistance for the families of those who lost their lives in accidents during the recent rains in Gwadar.
On a day-long visit to Gwadar, the prime minister was welcomed by Balochistan’s Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and other dignitaries. During his visit, the local administration briefed him on the destruction caused by the rains in the region.
Prime Minister Sharif directed authorities to devise a comprehensive plan for the aid and rehabilitation of the rain-affected victims.
He called for the establishment of an early warning system using modern technology and satellites to predict natural disasters. He also sought detailed reports on the restoration of the damaged communication infrastructure.
The prime minister expressed his commitment to assisting the victims, stating that measures would be taken to compensate for the damages caused by the torrential rains, which wreaked havoc in Gwadar and other parts of Balochistan.
Sharif emphasized that the assistance was not a favour but a duty to stand with brothers in times of distress. He assured that all damages would be compensated in accordance with regulations and law.
He announced that those whose homes were completely destroyed would receive Rs750,000, while those with partial damages would receive PRs350,000. The families of the deceased will be given Rs 2 million per person, and the injured will receive Rs500,000 each, he announced adding that the affected families will be provided with the funds within four days.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to visit Karachi on Wednesday, where he will pay respects at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam.
