SLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been honoured with Bahrain’s highest civil award, the Order of Bahrain (First Class), during his official visit to the kingdom. The award was presented by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in recognition of the strong and enduring relationship between Pakistan and Bahrain.
According to officials, Prime Minister Shehbaz held a detailed meeting with King Hamad, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the historic partnership between the two nations. The prime minister thanked the Bahraini leadership for the warm reception and appreciated the country’s longstanding goodwill towards Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz also lauded Bahrain’s efforts in promoting peace, tolerance, and coexistence at the regional and global levels.
During the ceremony, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa conferred the Order of Bahrain (First Class)–the highest honour Bahrain bestows on international leaders. The king said Bahrain holds a special connection with Pakistan, recalling that Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah once served as Bahrain’s legal representative, according to official records.
