PM Shehbaz begins five-day visit to the US

NEW YORK: Prime Minster (PM) Shehbaz Sharif arrived in New York early Tuesday for a five-day visit to attend the United Nations (UN) General Assembly session.
Shehbaz is scheduled to address the UNGA on September 27, where he is expected to discuss key issues affecting Pakistan and the intentional community, including Kashmir and Gaza.

The PM is accompanied by Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif, Attaullah Tarar, and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, who will participate in various meetings and discussions during the visit.
One of the highlights of the trip will be a high-level meeting focused on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Where Shehbaz will engage with global leaders on strategies to achieve the objectives.
The PM is also set to meet wit the US-Pakistan Business Council and Pakistani bankers. The meeting aim to promote the government’s business and investor-friendly policies, fostering economic ties between Pakistan and the United States.
Shehbaz’s agenda also includes meetings with prominent figures such as the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He is also expected to hold discussions with Microsoft billionaire owner Bill Gates, the President of the World Bank and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The meetings are expected to address various economic and developmental challenges facing inflation-hit Pakistan .

An important aspect of the visit will be a special meeting with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas During the meeting, the two leaders are expected to consult on measures to address the ongoing Israeli invasion in Palestine and explore ways to accelerate efforts to halt the violence.
Shehbaz has scheduled to meet with th heads of friendly countries, aiming to strengthen diplomatic relations and discuss collaborative efforts on regional and global issues.
