WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left Islamabad on Wednesday for a two-day official visit to Bahrain, aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s longstanding ties with the Gulf kingdom. The visit will take place from November 26 to 27, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, federal ministers and senior officials are accompanying the prime minister as part of the high-level delegation.

During the trip, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Bahrain’s top leadership, including King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa; Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.

The statement said the visit reflects the “deep-rooted, friendly and longstanding relationship” between Pakistan and Bahrain. Officials hope the engagements will pave the way for a “results-oriented and strategic partnership” between the two countries.

The PMO added that the visit is expected to further reinforce the traditionally warm relations, open new avenues of cooperation, and enhance people-to-people exchanges, key elements both sides see as essential for expanding mutually beneficial collaboration.
