PM Shehbaz, Kuwait crown prince discuss regional situation in phone call

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on Friday, during which the two leaders discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East and reaffirmed bilateral ties.

During the call, the prime minister strongly condemned the recent attacks on Kuwait and expressed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Kuwaiti people in this difficult time. He conveyed heartfelt condolences over the loss of lives and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also briefed the Kuwaiti leadership on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace and ending conflict in the region. He reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to playing a constructive role in de-escalating tensions.

The Kuwaiti crown prince appreciated the prime minister’s leadership and welcomed Pakistan’s efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States. He thanked Pakistan for its support during the current crisis and also acknowledged the prime minister’s recent letter expressing solidarity with Kuwait.

He further expressed his desire to visit Pakistan once the situation stabilises.

In response, Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening regional peace and stability through continued diplomatic engagement.
