PM Shehbaz Sharif meets Marco Rubio, stresses support for Gaza peace plan

WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Washington, highlighting the importance of strategic relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to support the implementation of a peace plan for Gaza. Both sides emphasised the significance of the bilateral partnership and expressed satisfaction with the positive direction of cooperation.

Trade, economy and counterterrorism

The leaders also agreed on promoting bilateral trade and economic activities, while committing to strengthening collaboration in counterterrorism efforts. Officials said the meeting underlined Pakistan and the United States’ shared interest in regional stability and the fight against extremist threats.
