WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed a Chinese company’s plan to transform Pakistan’s grain storage facilities into modern, state-of-the-art centres, saying the initiative would introduce advanced technology and support the country’s agriculture sector.
The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with a delegation led by FAMSUN Chief Executive Officer Jack Chen in Islamabad.
The delegation briefed PM Shehbaz on the company’s interest in establishing a green silo demonstration centre in Pakistan, along with developing modern storage facilities, technology transfer, and training programmes to enhance food security.
The prime minister said the project would help promote commercial activities and strengthen agricultural development across the country. He added that Pakistan and China’s economic partnership and bilateral relations were continuing to grow stronger with time.
Shehbaz Sharif said business-to-business cooperation between the two countries would further deepen their longstanding friendship, while stressing that skills development and training of Pakistan’s workforce should be an essential part of such initiatives.
Jack Chen thanked the prime minister and the government for their hospitality, recalling his recent meeting with PM Shehbaz during his visit to China, which paved the way for discussions on practical measures to improve food security in Pakistan.
He said FAMSUN was committed to supporting Pakistan through modern grain storage solutions, technology transfer, and workforce training.
