PMD predicts persistence of dense fog for the next two days

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts the persistence of dense fog over the plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh in the coming two days. The PMD advises citizens to exercise caution during these foggy conditions.
Day temperatures are expected to stay below normal in most parts of Punjab due to the dense fog. The synoptic situation indicates the prevalence of continental air over the majority of the country.
Anticipate mainly cold and dry weather across most plain areas, with very cold and partly cloudy conditions in the northern parts. Over the last 24 hours, cold and dry weather dominated most regions, with very cold conditions in the northern areas. However, Gilgit Baltistan experienced partly cloudy weather, while dense fog and smog affected the plains of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.

Recorded lowest temperatures include Leh at -08°C, Skardu at -07°C, Gupis, Kalam, and Srinagar at -05°C, Gilgit and Astore at -04°C, and Parachinar and Rawalakot at -03°C. Stay informed and take necessary precautions during these weather conditions.
