LAHORE: The coordination committees of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) held a meeting on Wednesday and decided to continue their cooperation, support, and coordination at the federal level for the sake of political, democratic, and economic stability in the country.

The meeting, which took place at the PML-N’s secretariat in Lahore, was attended by senior leaders from both parties, including Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, and Malik Mohammad Ahmed Khan from the PML-N, and Kamran Tessori, Farooq Sattar, and Mustafa Kamal from the MQM-P.

According to a joint statement issued after the meeting, the two parties discussed the current political situation in the country and expressed their concerns over the rising inflation, unemployment, and poverty.

The statement said that the PML-N and the MQM-P agreed to work together for the protection of the rights and interests of the people of Pakistan, especially the smaller provinces and the urban areas.

They also vowed to resist any attempts to undermine the parliamentary system and the 18th Amendment, which devolved more powers and resources to the provinces.

The statement added that the two parties would maintain regular contact and consultation on various issues of national importance.
