PML-N extends applications’ deadline for party tickets

LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has extended the deadline for the submission of applications for party tickets for the next general election.

The PML-N through a notification has extended the deadline by 10 days for prospective candidates to submit their applications. The new deadline has been extended till November 20.

Earlier, the PML-N had formally invited applications from prospective candidates till November 10.

The PML-N had also issued a form for national and provincial assembly seats.

The party had asked the contenders for the general and reserved seats of National Assembly to attach Rs200,000 bank draft with the applications.

Those contesting on provincial assemblies and reserved seats had been asked to attach a bank draft of Rs100,000 along with the applications.

Though the party has cited the smart lockdown as the reason for the extension of the deadline for the submission of applications, sources within PML-N told HUM News English that the party has so far received few applications than expected.

The sources said that apparently there was no smart lockdown across the country, fewer applications were the main reason behind the extension in the deadline.

The party has asked applicants to make their payments through banks. The party has strictly prohibiting any form of cash transactions “to ensure a fair and accountable ticket distribution process”.
