Political Parties begin election campaign preparations

KARACHI: Political parties in Pakistan are gearing up for the upcoming general elections, initiating preparations for their election campaigns.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), with Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz at the helm, is set to make a significant move by visiting the Sindh region this month.

Sources indicate that her visit is likely to encompass key cities, including Karachi and Hyderabad, as part of an effort to reorganize the party in Sindh.

The specific schedule for her visit to these cities is currently under development.

During her visit to Sindh, it is anticipated that the announcement of the new office-bearers of PML-N Sindh will be made.

The provincial chapter of the party has already commenced preparations for Maryam Nawaz’s visit, with several prominent figures from Sindh expected to join PML-N during this period.

Pervez Khattak anticipates delay in election

In a separate development, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has chosen to commence his election campaign today, Saturday.

His campaign itinerary includes visits to Badin, Thatta, and Sajawal. Subsequently, Bilawal Bhutto will tour Tando Adam Khan and Hyderabad, ultimately making his way to Nawabshah, Sukkur, and Kashmore via Hyderabad. Following his campaign trail, he will depart for Lahore from Multan to attend the party’s central executive committee meeting.

Meanwhile, former President and Co-Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, arrived in Karachi on Friday night after concluding his visit to Dubai.

Asif Zardari, who had been in Dubai for a few days, underwent a medical check-up and engaged in high-profile political meetings during his stay. Additionally, PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain returned to Karachi from Dubai alongside Asif Zardari.
