Powerball winner: Who won the Powerball jackpot last night?

WASHINGTON: Searches for “Powerball winner last night” surged across the US as lottery fans looked for details about the latest drawing and whether a lucky ticket had claimed the massive jackpot.

As of now, here is what we know.

The $1.8 billion Powerball jackpot appears to have been won by a single ticket sold in Arkansas, while Maryland players also had reason to celebrate with multiple big wins on Christmas Eve.

From September 7 through December 24, Powerball generated $11.3 million in prizes for Maryland players, in addition to $15.4 million in contributions to the state.

The jackpot-winning ticket was sold during the Wednesday, December 24 drawing, claiming an estimated $1.817 billion Powerball jackpot. The winning numbers were 4, 25, 31, 52, 59, and the red Powerball was 19.

In addition, eight other tickets matched the first five numbers to win $1 million each.

The next Powerball drawing, scheduled for Saturday, December 27, will see the jackpot reset to an estimated $20 million.

Powerball drawings take place three times a week — Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday — at 10:59 p.m. ET. The odds of winning the jackpot remain 1 in 292.2 million.
