PPP plans to set up presidential guest house in Lahore

LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has announced plans to establish a presidential guest house in Lahore,. According to media reports, this decision is aimed at strengthening the party’s presence in Punjab.

Once operational, the presidential guest house will serve as a central location for PPP leaders and dignitaries, offering a venue for gatherings and meetings. It is anticipated that President Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto will soon visit Lahore to meet with party officials.

Sources within the party indicate that invitations will also be extended to party members for dinner at Bilawal House Lahore. Discussions during these gatherings will focus on plans for organizational restructuring in Lahore and Punjab, particularly following the resignation of former president Chaudhry Aslam Gul from his party position. The party will initiate consultations for reorganisation and the election of a new president in light of these developments.

In recent developments, Asif Ali Zardari assumed office for his second term as President. The swearing-in ceremony, held at the President’s House, was administered by the Chief Justice of Pakistan.

Notable attendees included Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and heads of the armed forces. Ministers and ambassadors from various countries also graced the ceremony.
