ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) have strongly rejected the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman assertions regarding no confidence move against former prime minister Imran Khan and said such claims made by him are devoid of facts
Addressing reporters at a press conference in Islamabad, PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi dismissed Maulana Fazl’s claims, asserting that the JUI-F leader had the authority to halt the no-confidence move as the head of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) at the time. Kundi further alleged that Maulana Fazl had reaped significant benefits from the motion, only to now backtrack on his stance regarding the legitimacy of Imran Khan’s removal from office.

Furthermore, Kundi rejected allegations by Maulana Fazlur Rehman implicating former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and former ISI Director General General Faiz Hameed in orchestrating the no-confidence motion.
He clarified that General Faiz Hameed had no involvement in the process and was serving as Corps Commander Peshawar at the time of the vote.
The PPP leader claimed that Maulana Fazl was a “spent cartridge” in the politics adding that the Maulana was raising hue and cry over the defeat of his son from Tank constituency.
Similarly, PML-N leader Malik Ahmed Khan echoed Kundi’s sentiments, emphasizing that the motion of no-confidence was a result of political consultation and not instigated by any external influence. Khan challenged Maulana Fazlur Rehman to provide evidence supporting his allegations, urging him to substantiate his claims with concrete proof.
