ISLAMABAD: The District and Sessions Courts Islamabad on Monday extended the pre-arrest bail of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, till November 25 in multiple cases, including those related to the May 9 incidents.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka presided over the hearing. During the proceedings, the court stayed the arrest of Imran Khan in five cases, including the May 9 and attempted murder cases, as well as a case concerning alleged fake receipts involving Bushra Bibi.

The court also directed the founder and former chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to appear either in person or via video link at the next hearing. Advocate Shamsa Kayani represented Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in court.

The judge expressed displeasure over the Adiala Jail authorities’ failure to respond to a previously issued show-cause notice and sought a report on the matter.

Following the brief proceedings, the court adjourned the hearing on bail applications till November 25.
