President Zardari approves military awards on Nearly 2,000 armed forces personnel

WEB DESK: President Asif Ali Zardari has officially approved military honours for 1,989 members of the armed forces in recognition of their service and gallantry, the President’s Secretariat confirmed on Monday.
The conferment, announced on the occasion of Pakistan Day, was made under Article 259(2) of the Constitution of Pakistan, according to Dawn News.
According to an official statement, the President acted on the recommendation of the Prime Minister to honour personnel from both the Pakistan Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces for their dedication to the state.
A comprehensive recognition of valour and service
The extensive list of honours includes 23 Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 100 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military), awarded to high-ranking officers for distinguished service.
For acts of bravery, the President approved 11 Sitara-i-Basalat and 475 Tamgha-i-Basalat, alongside 136 Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 130 Imtiazi Sanad.
The recognition further extends to long-standing meritorious service, with the approval of 175 Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military) Class-I, 319 Class-II, and 620 Class-III awards, ensuring that a broad spectrum of the rank and file is acknowledged for their contributions to national security.
