MORO, Sindh: President Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that all stakeholders would work together to strengthen state institutions including the establishment, while stressing the need to focus on economic self-reliance and agricultural modernization.
Addressing a public gathering in Moro, Zardari said that the country needed to empower people economically and promote the use of modern technology in agriculture in line with contemporary requirements.
He also referred to regional tensions, saying the world had not adequately highlighted alleged violence against Muslims in India.
Zardari further said Pakistan had delivered a strong response in a brief conflict with India, including the downing of aircraft, which he said “brought them to their senses.”
He said that governance and strengthening the state remained key challenges, and reiterated his call for unity to reinforce national institutions and the country’s stability.
He also met local notables and elected representatives at the residence of Sindh Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar.
