Amazon has confirmed that Cross will return for a third season, extending the run of its popular crime drama led by Aldis Hodge.

According to reports, the upcoming season will consist of eight episodes and continue to follow detective Alex Cross as he navigates high-stakes investigations.

The series is based on characters created by bestselling author James Patterson and has steadily built a strong global audience since its debut.

In a statement shared via industry reports, Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, said the show has resonated with viewers due to its layered storytelling and strong performances.

“From the beginning, Cross has captivated audiences with its layered characters, pulse-pounding suspense, and emotionally grounded storytelling,” he said. “Aldis has delivered a definitive portrayal of Alex Cross, anchoring the series with depth, intelligence and heart.”

He added that the team is “thrilled to continue this journey” alongside its creative partners and cast.

The renewal follows strong performance metrics, with the first season reportedly drawing around 40 million viewers globally within its first 20 days on Prime Video. It also ranked as the platform’s third most-watched premiere in 2025.

While a release date for season three has not yet been announced, the new instalment is expected to further expand the world of Alex Cross and build on the show’s growing momentum.
