Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Vilayath Buddha set to release on Nov 21

ISLAMABAD: The Indian Malayalam-language action film Vilaayath Buddha, featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran, is set to hit cinemas on November 21 this year.

The film introduces a striking set of characters poised to captivate audiences. At its core are the two central figures from Indugopan’s acclaimed novel featured in by Bhaskaran Master, who has been nurturing a sandalwood tree in his yard for deeply personal reasons, and Double Mohanan, his former student, now a smuggler, who rebels against his mentor and seeks to cut down the prized tree, known as the “Vilayath Buddha” for its high export value.

Directed by Indian filmmaker Jayan Nambiar, the movie is a direct adaptation of the novel Vilayath Buddha. The project entered development in May 2020, with principal photography beginning on October 19, 2022.
