LAHORE: The Home Department Punjab has taken a significant step in addressing the serious allegations of sexual harassment and drug abuse involving female students at Islamia University Bahawalpur.

In response to the growing concerns, a one-member tribunal has been established to conduct a thorough investigation into these disturbing incidents.

Appointed by the Lahore High Court, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar will lead the inquiry into these allegations. The tribunal’s mandate is to uncover the truth behind the reported incidents and ensure a fair and impartial examination of the situation.

Commencing on August 28, the tribunal’s first hearing has commenced at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat, Baghdadul Jadeed Campus, Islamia University Bahawalpur.

This marks the initiation of what promises to be a rigorous and comprehensive investigation into the allegations.

In light of these developments, the public had been urged to actively engage in the investigation process. Those who possess information, evidence, or are directly affected by the alleged sexual harassment and drug abuse have been asked to come forward and share their perspectives.

Individuals who can provide valuable insights or evidence have been requested to appear before the special tribunal at the specified location from 9 am to 5 pm.
