PSDF and NAVTTC join forces to empower youth nationwide

LAHORE: In a groundbreaking move, the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) have sealed a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This partnership aims to extend skill development training to youth nationwide, marking a significant expansion from PSDF’s previous focus limited to Punjab.

Under this MOU, PSDF will take the helm in providing training on behalf of NAVTTC, reaching out to young individuals across the country. The collaboration is set to enhance digital training initiatives and certifications for locally trained youth, paving their way into the international job market with greater ease.
Emphasising the importance of aligning local training with global standards, PSDF’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Ali Akbar Bosan, stressed the necessity of bridging the gap between domestic and international curricula. By doing so, Bosan believes Pakistani workers can position themselves more competitively in the global job market.
NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal Ahmad echoed this sentiment, advocating for urgent measures to uplift and empower the youth. Highlighting the need for a youth emergency, Ahmad called for targeted interventions to harness the potential of young individuals and integrate them meaningfully into society.
The collaboration between PSDF and NAVTTC will extend to various sectors, including Construction, Hospitality, and IT, with a key focus on ensuring that at least 30 per cent of graduates secure employment. Training programmes are set to be rolled out across 16 districts nationwide, spanning from Lahore to Muzaffarabad, aiming to equip youth with practical skills tailored to industry needs.
