PSL 11: Peshawar, Faisalabad set to host matches for the first time

LAHORE: Cricket fever is heading to a few new cities! The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially revealed the schedule for the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and for the first time ever, matches will be played in both Peshawar and Faisalabad.
According to the PCB, the action-packed tournament will feature 44 matches played across six venues from March 26 to May 3. Alongside the new host cities, games will also take place in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
Each team will battle through 10 league matches, with the top four advancing to the knockout rounds, Qualifier 1, the Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the grand final, set to be played between April 28 and May 3.
The championship showdown will take place at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday, May 3, with a reserve day scheduled for May 4 if needed.
In terms of venues, Gaddafi Stadium will host the lion’s share of the action with 15 matches, including the final. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will stage 11 games, while Karachi National Stadium gets six. Multan Cricket Stadium will host four matches, Faisalabad Iqbal Stadium will stage seven, and Peshawar Arbab Niaz Cricket Stadium will see its first PSL clash with a single fixture.
This season also marks another big step for the league, expanding to eight teams for the first time with the addition of the Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindi Pindiz. The tournament kicks off on March 26 with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on the debutant Kingsmen in Lahore, setting the stage for what promises to be a thrilling season of T20 cricket.
