PSL 11: Peshawar Zalmi announce head coach, assistant coach

PESHAWAR: Peshawar Zalmi on Tuesday announced Ots Gibson as their head coach and former Pakistani Test cricketer Azhar Mahmood as assistant and bowling coach for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.

Speaking on the occasion, Peshawar Zalmi chairman Javed Afridi said Gibson’s extensive experience would prove invaluable for the team. “Ots Gibson brings a wealth of coaching knowledge from his stints with West Indies and South Africa national teams, as well as franchises in Yorkshire, the BPL, The Hundred, and other leagues,” Afridi said.

Azhar Mahmood, who enjoyed a long career as a Pakistani all-rounder and has considerable coaching experience, has been appointed assistant and bowling coach for the upcoming season. “Azhar Mahmood’s international and domestic experience makes him an ideal addition to our coaching staff. His expertise will be crucial in preparing our bowlers and ensuring top performance in PSL Season 11,” Afridi added.

The appointments underline Peshawar Zalmi’s commitment to assembling a world-class coaching setup and a strong squad ahead of the new season, with the team aiming to compete at the highest level in PSL 11.
