WEB DESK: A gong ceremony is being held at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) today, where Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is addressing participants via video link, underscoring what he described as steadily improving investor confidence in the country’s equity market.
He says investment activity reflects growing trust in the PSX, adding that the market is moving towards new heights on the back of sustained participation from domestic and international investors.
Budget signals growth direction for coming fiscal year
The finance minister states that the upcoming federal budget outlines a clear direction towards economic growth and stability.
He says policy measures are being aligned to support long-term development and macroeconomic consistency.
China-Pakistan economic cooperation highlighted
Referring to external partnerships, Mr Aurangzeb appreciates the role of Chinese companies and Pakistan’s “brotherly friends” for their continued contribution to development projects in the country.
He notes that China is also extending support in the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which he says remains an important pillar of economic cooperation.
The ceremony is ongoing at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, where market participants and officials are in attendance as trading activities continue in a symbolic session. The PSX has in recent months witnessed improved sentiment amid policy efforts aimed at macroeconomic stabilisation, fiscal discipline and restoring investor confidence.
The event comes at a time when policymakers are projecting a growth-oriented outlook for the upcoming federal budget, with emphasis on structural reforms and sustained economic recovery.
