ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) is set to showcase a series of industry-first AI applications at Indus AI Week 2026, Pakistan’s premier national platform for artificial intelligence, a press release said on Sunday.

The event will highlight PTCL’s transformation from a traditional telecom provider into a fully AI-enabled technology company, leveraging global innovation expertise from e& to drive scalable and locally relevant AI adoption across the country.

At the summit, PTCL will demonstrate its growing AI capabilities through eight real-world use cases, including four powered by e&, three from PTCL Business Solutions, and an accessibility-focused solution by ConnectHear. These initiatives aim to showcase AI’s practical impact across operational, enterprise, and inclusive digital environments.

The statement by PTCL said that the company is actively investing in Pakistan’s next-generation AI infrastructure, including high-performance GPU systems to strengthen computing and data processing capabilities, supporting advanced AI workloads and broader digital transformation.

PTCL President and CEO Hatem Bamatraf is also scheduled for a keynote address on translating AI ambition into national impact, as well as a panel discussion on the future of AI adoption, along with e& Enterprise Chief Cloud Officer Mouteih Chaghlil.

For years, Pakistan has largely watched from the sidelines as the global tech arena advanced, boasting talent and flashes of innovation but rarely taking center stage. Indus AI Week 2026, running from February 9 to 15, signals a decisive shift. The week is more than a conference; it is Pakistan stepping into the global AI spotlight, moving from policy discussions to practical action, with a focus on execution and impact.

The event kicks off in Islamabad with the Indus AI Summit, a high-level gathering where sovereign AI initiatives, national compute infrastructure, and the future of Artificial General Intelligence will be actively mapped and strategised.

From techathons and startup expos to national bootcamps and robotics showcases, Indus AI Week brings students, founders, and innovators together to build, compete, and deliver real-world AI solutions. The week cements Pakistan’s transition from supplying talent to creating technology, positioning the country not just as a participant but as a player in shaping the future of artificial intelligence (AI).
