ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced countrywide protests on March 2 against what the party said widespread irregularities in the general election held on February 8.
PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat, speaking on behalf of the party founder Imran Khan, said that the imprisoned party chief has urged the public to actively participate in the planned protests, viewing them as a vital avenue to demand accountability from the authorities concerned.
He said that Imran Khan’s endorsement of the nationwide demonstration underscores the gravity of the situation and the party’s commitment to upholding democratic principles.
He said that the decision to mobilize the nation on March 2 reflects PTI’s unwavering stance against electoral malpractice and its steadfast determination to ensure transparency and fairness in the electoral process.
The PTI aims to galvanize public opinion and pressure authorities to address the alleged irregularities, thereby safeguarding the sanctity of democracy in Pakistan.
