ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to sit in opposition in Centre and Punjab.
After a meeting between the leaders of the PTI and Qaumi Watan Party in Islamabad, PTI leader Barrister Saif said in a media talk that he met with the leaders of Qaumi Watan Party on the direction of PTI founder Imran Khan as they wanted harmony and understanding in the country.
He said that Form 45 is proof that “our candidates have won but the results have been changed in Form 47.”
He said that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the Jamaat-e-Islami have also announced a protest. “Elections are held every five years and become controversial, and the purpose of the elections has been lost,” he said.
He said that they were in contact with political parties on the direction of the PTI founder and they have decided to sit in opposition in Center and Punjab.
It may be noted that 92 independent candidates backed by the PTI have won National Assembly seats in the general election.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the Pakistan People’s Party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and others have announced to form a government in the centre.
In the National Assembly, the PML-N has won 79 seats, the PPP 54, the MQM 17, Pakistan Muslim League-Q 3, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party two and Balochistan Awami Party has won one seat.
Thus, this alliance has the support of 156 members in total and after getting the reserved seats, it will easily cross the figure of 172 to form a government.
In addition, in Punjab, the PML-N has also claimed to complete the figure of 186 to form the government.
