LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf-Nazriati (PTI-N) Chairman Akhtar Iqbal on Saturday accused the PTI of submitting fake tickets under his party’s name.
Talking to the media during a press conference in Press Club, Lahore, the PTI-N chairman said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has clarified that one political party cannot use symbol of another.
When asked whether he would take any action against the use of fake tickets, the PTI-N chairman responded that it is the job of the ECP to take action against such acts.
“We are the real PTI,” Akhtar Iqbal remarked. “PTI-Nazarati has its own manifesto and vision”.
“We have issued 150 tickets to our candidates”, said Akhtar Iqbal, while showing the photographs of the registered candidates.
“The state institutions have to decide who is corrupt”, the PTI-N chairman added.
Earlier today, in a post by the official PTI account on X (formerly Twitter), the party candidates who were in possession of “Tehreek-e-Insaaf Nazriati” tickets were told to immediately submit their nomination papers to their respective returning officers (RO). If any kind of hindrance is faced, submit complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and High Court”.

Akhtar Iqbal joined the PTI in 2007. However, he formed his own party because of ideological differences with the PTI.
The PTI-N was registered with the ECP in February 2016. The party was allotted the ‘bat’ symbol in February 2016, as well. PTI-N then contested its first election in 2018.
