ISLAMABAD: In the wake of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally on Sunday, several private schools in the capital city of Islamabad remained closed on Monday while the schools run under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) remained open.
The blocked roads have been reopened and Metro service between the twin cities is also fully operational.
The closure comes as a precautionary measure following the large political gathering, which led to roadblocks and traffic jams across key areas of Islamabad.

The rally held at Saranjani, disrupted the city’s routine as major roads leading to the rally venue, including Faizabad, Murree Road, Chungi No 26, and a section of Margalla Road were temporarily blocked by containers causing inconvenience for commuters.
Several private school administrations in Islamabad sent out notices to parents, announcing closures on Monday due to potential safety concerns and traffic disruptions.
The private schools in Islamabad which were closed on Monday included Headstart, West Minister, Super Nova, Lahore Grammar School, City School and Beacon House.
However, schools under the Federal Directorate of Education were opened on Monday and functionally normally.
However, authorities confirmed that all major roads had been reopened late Sunday night, allowing traffic to resume as normal.
