PTI leader Salman Akram Raja arrested

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja has been arrested from the party office located on Jail Road in Lahore.

PTI had planned to stage “peaceful protests” nationwide today to decry what it alleges as “blatant rigging” during the February 8 national election.

Details surrounding Raja’s arrest remain scant, with authorities yet to provide a formal statement regarding the grounds for his detention.

However, eyewitnesses reported a heavy police presence at the scene prior to Raja’s apprehension.
