PTI not responsible for May 9 events: Omar Ayub

ISLAMABAD: The Sunni Ittehad Council nominee for the prime minister’s slot Omar Ayub Khan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf workers were subjected to the worst violence during detention, and were forced to quit the PTI.

Speaking in the National Assembly session, he said that 65 percent of the country’s population is under 45 years of age, and the youth have seen their families being targeted by the worst violence.

Omar Ayub said that the prime minister should first talk about the rule of law in the country, and that Shehbaz Sharif is responsible for the incident that took place on November 3, 2022.

He said that one PTI worker was martyred in the Wazirabad attack, and several others including the PTI founder were injured in the Wazirabad attack, and that three shooters were used in the Wazirabad attack. He asked where the attacker is the attacker. He feared that the attacker who attacked the PTI founder would be silenced like ‘Maqsood chaprasi’.

Omar Ayub said that PTI is not responsible for the events of May 9, and that 10,000 of their people were arrested.

He said that the state TV was not showing his speech live from the House, and asked the Speaker of the National Assembly to give him the rolling to show his speech live.

He demanded an impartial inquiry into the May 9 events.

Omar Ayub said that “my leader Imran Khan has been arrested as a political prisoner, and that our innocent people were shot and martyred on May 9. We demand that there should be an impartial inquiry into the incident.”

Omar Ayub said that “our vice-chairman and president are political prisoners. PTI’s women and workers are political prisoners, and I demand that Bushra Bibi be provided with appropriate facilities.”

During Omar Ayub’s speech, the newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left the Parliament House.

Omar Ayub continued his speech and said that the state TV was not showing his speech live, and asked the National Assembly Speaker to give the ruling to show his speech live.

‘Bushra Bibi is Imran Khan’s strength, not weakness’

Omar Ayub said that these people do not know that Bushra Bibi is Imran Khan’s strength, not weakness. He said that Bushra Bibi has been made a hostage.

He said that Arshad Sharif was killed and his investigation was stopped, Zillay Shah was killed in Zaman Park. Our innocent people were shot and martyred on May 9, we demand an impartial inquiry, and the facts should come out.” Omar Ayub said that Javed Malik, Zakir and dozens others were shot and martyred.
