PTI protest: Ali Muhammad Khan questions Aleema Khan, Bushra Bibi’s role

Ali Muhammad Khan

ISLAMABAD: In a purported audio leak, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Muhammad Khan has expressed his frustration over the decisions taken ahead of the party’s recent protest in Islamabad.

He said that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, rather than Aleema Khan, should have announced the protest, underscoring that such announcements should come from the party rather than individuals.

“PTI’s founder (Imran Khan) always maintained that there is no place for dynastic politics in our party, so why did Aleema Khan issue the protest call herself?” Khan could be heard questioning in the recording.

He said that such decisions should be communicated through proper party channels.

Khan further said that the PTI founder had instructed supporters to gather in Islamabad, not specifically at D-Chowk. “The plan was to decide on a location after supporters had assembled in Islamabad. When the directive was to stay in Sangjani, why was the protest moved to D-Chowk?” he asked.

He revealed that the PTI founder had outlined a strategy focused on using the protest as a platform for negotiations and opposed holding separate demonstrations in Sindh and Punjab.

He alleged that the founder was unaware of Bushra Bibi’s participation in the protest until informed by Barrister Gohar.

Ali Muhammad Khan criticized deviations from the party leader’s directives, emphasizing that decisions such as proceeding beyond Sangjani were against the founder’s orders.

“No one, including Bushra Bibi, has the right to override the decisions of our chairman,” he said, urging strict adherence to party leadership.

He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had also agreed to stay in Sangjani. “We must follow our leader’s orders and avoid creating confusion through personal decisions,” he said.
