PTI protest at D-Chowk: reinforcements, 2,000 tear gas shells delivered

ISLAMABAD: A protest planned by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters at D-Chowk today has led to significant disruptions in Islamabad. The No. 26 Changi area has been completely closed to traffic, with police enforcing strict security measures in response to the protest.
Authorities have reportedly delivered 2,000 tear gas shells to the police to manage the crowd in the event of an untoward incident. Senior officials, including SSP Operation, SSP Safe City, and SPCIA, are overseeing the situation in the area.
In addition to the roadblocks, the main bridge near No. 26 has also been shut down by the police.
Markets in the vicinity of No. 26 have been closed as a precautionary measure. The situation remains tense, with heightened security as the protest continues. Schools have also announced online classes today in wake of the planned protest.
