ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party is set to stage nationwide protest today, Saturday  against the purported rigging in the 2024 general elections.

Pakistan’s February 8 national polls were clouded by widespread disruptions in cellphone networks and delayed results, sparking accusations of election tampering.

The PTI has announced around three dozen cities where it would be holding protests against alleged rigging in the Feb 8 elections.

In a post on X, the PTI said candidates backed by the party would take out rallies from their respective constituencies.

ThE PTI has called its protest today at 11 am and a march will be held from F-9 park till press club.

In Islamabad, security measures have been intensified, with Section 144 enforced in the federal capital.

Police spokesperson highlighted increased patrolling and stricter checks, with CTD special forces deployed for emergency response.

Citizens are urged to carry identification documents and cooperate with law enforcement during checks, especially considering potential traffic congestion around F-9 Park.

LAHORE

In Lahore the PTI protest will be held at GPO Chowk Mall Road at 11:00 am.

Traffic congestion is expected in the area and security has been beefed up,.

KARACHI

In Quaid’s city the protest is planned at 4:00 pm at the press club.
