GILGIT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the Gilgit-Baltistan election results, alleging large-scale rigging and claiming that efforts are underway to manipulate and alter the outcome.

The party strongly condemned what it described as the open use of state machinery, asserting that its candidates were in a clear lead until 7 pm, according to its spokesperson.

PTI said sudden results from several polling stations raised serious questions, while unusually high turnout, reportedly exceeding 80 per cent at some locations, has also triggered concern.

The party further alleged that 700 to 800 votes were recovered from a single ballot box, calling for an immediate and transparent investigation.

It also claimed that fake ballot papers were recovered in Nagar and other areas, and that individuals linked to rival groups were caught with fake ballots.

PTI accused authorities of tampering with voter lists, inserting multiple entries, and altering polling arrangements through police and administrative influence.

The party also alleged that its candidates and workers were harassed during the election process.

PTI said the government was attempting to “steal the mandate” through Form 47, and vowed it would not allow the public mandate to be undermined.

It demanded the immediate release of verified results from all polling stations, along with the provision of Forms 45 and 46 to all candidates.

The party also urged the Election Commission to take urgent steps to ensure transparency, reiterating its commitment to protect the votes of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan “at all costs.”
