PTI workers harass PML-N Leader Hina Butt in London

LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hina Parvez Butt was reportedly harassed by individuals who tossed a bottle at her and screamed insults at her.

This incident drew harsh criticism from Twitter users.

On X, formerly Twitter, she said, “In London, obnoxious PTI members went so far as to attack me in front of my kid, hurl bottles at me, and call me derogatory names.”

“Are these uncivilized people making Pakistan’s name bright or defaming it?”

The former member of the Punjab Assembly further expressed gratitude for the lessons in patience and civility instilled by her leader, Nawaz Sharif. She vowed never to forsake these values.

Condemnations of the behavior were proffered on social media as the video gained popularity. Despite whatever political issues one may have, many users believed that such actions went too far.

In the social media footage that went viral, it was evident that the former MP was the target of a bottle hurled at her when she was walking along a London street.

She said she was followed and harassed for 30 to 40 minutes. She added that the harassers did not even care about her minor son.

This is not the first time that something similar has happened; in September of last year, the previous information minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb, was heckled at a coffee shop. Ahsan Iqbal, a former minister of planning, too endured the same torture at the hands of PTI supporters.
