KARACHI: During a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally at Teen Talwar, police and party workers clashed on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of 25 party workers.
South Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Asad Raza stated that the situation escalated when agitated individuals began hurling stones, which injured Boat Basin SHO Riaz Niazi among others.
Tear gas was deployed to disperse the PTI workers, said DIG South. He further said that a lady police constable was also affected by the shelling.

He further stated that PTI held a political rally in the Red Zone without obtaining a no-objection certificate from the SSP or DC South.
Meanwhile, PTI Karachi spokesperson Falak Almas stated that the party had notified the district administration of its intention to hold a rally today.
She said that initially, the party had planned to conduct the rally from Sharea Quaideen to the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah. However, due to a rally organized by Jamaat-i-Islami at Bagh-i-Jinnah, the venue was later changed from Seaview to Teen Talwar.
