LAHORE: A 13-year-old boy named Majid Rehman, known for his avid participation in the popular online game Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), has been apprehended by the police after he fled his home, having stolen over Rs 70,000 to fuel his gaming passion.
The teenager managed to pilfer the substantial sum from his own household before making a hasty escape with his companions.
Rehman’s primary expenditure was directed towards acquiring various PUBG in-game costumes.

After an exhaustive three-day search, local law enforcement successfully located the teenager and subsequently reunited him with his family.
The family had previously filed an abduction First Information Report (FIR) at the Arifwala city police station.
It is worth noting that Pakistan last year had temporarily imposed a ban on the immensely popular online game, PUBG, following numerous complaints of addiction and media reports linking the game to instances of suicide.
In Lahore, police authorities had urged for the ban after the tragic suicide of a teenage player.
