ISLAMABAD: The incumbent government has announced a public holiday on August 14 (Wednesday) to mark the nation’s 78th Independence Day.
To mark this important occasion, all government offices, educational institutions, banks, and financial institutions will remain closed, allowing citizens to participate in festivities and reflect on the country’s journey since gaining independence in 1947.

Due to being a public holiday on August 14, the State Bank of Pakistan has officially announced the closure of all banks and financial institutions, ensuring a day of celebration and remembrance for the nation on August 14.
This year’s Independence Day holds special significance, coming on the heels of Arshad Nadeem’s historic gold medal win at the Paris Olympics 2024, which has united the nation in pride and joy.
UAE TO MARK PAKISTAN’S 77TH INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH GRAND EVENT IN DUBAI
To mark Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, a grand celebration will be organised in Dubai on August 11.
The event will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre with around 10,000 people and will include a vibrant programme featuring cultural performances, musical shows, and traditional activities that showcase the rich heritage and contributions of the Pakistani community to the UAE’s development.
