LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the authorities concerned to implement a key performance indicators (KPI) system in the Board of Revenue (BoR), following its successful adoption in the police and administration departments.
Chairing a meeting on the ‘performance index’ of the BoR on Wednesday, the Punjab chief minister announced that the performance of commissioners, deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners, tehsildars, and naib tehsildars would now be evaluated using key performance indicators.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the KPI would also be used to monitor the performance of judicial members, member tax, member colonies, and member consolidation within the BoR. She highlighted that scores would be updated based on the timely verification of deaths in rural centers (‘mall’) and by the Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA).
The chief minister stated that the performance of sub-registrar offices would be linked to the timely verification of registries, with matters related to death and land record verification also included in the KPI scoring. Additionally, she noted that progress on the digitization of revenue records under the “Pulse Project” would be part of the KPIs, along with E-Gurdavari, monthly district coordination committee meetings, and field reports on heir deaths.

Maryam Nawaz further explained that officers’ performance would be evaluated through innovative measures and policy reforms aimed at enhancing public convenience, with the timely disposal of court cases contributing to KPI scores. She underscored that improvements in distribution, transfer, and revenue recovery would also boost the relevant officers’ KPI scores.
The KPI system will also assess the management of state land, including the lease of agricultural land, consolidation fees, and the State Land Directory.
Earlier in the meeting, the chief minister was briefed on the structure and service delivery of the BoR, the Pulse Project, revenue recovery, and land management issues, as well as the progress made on the digitalization of the BoR.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Information and Culture Minister Azma Zahid Bukhari, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Senior Member Board of Revenue Nabil Javed, Principal Secretary to the CM Sajid Zafar Dal, Secretary Implementation Danish Afzal, and Personal Secretary Saima Farooq also attended the meeting.
